Due to corona cases, as the second wave hit back to lockdown and players from Kolkata Knight Riders tested positive for Corona. After this, IPL decided to conduct the remaining matches by following strict protocols without data & rules breaches by the players or people involved. Firstly, the Health of players is before BCCI, so it decided to postpone and release a notification.
Later on May 29, 2021, BCCI and Eight IPL franchise came together on the virtual meet to conduct the remaining IPL matches. So, the next part of IPL 2021 will happen in September - October 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.
To complete IPL 2021, BCCI decided to request International Cricket Council to make a Slight delay in conducting ICC T20 World cup 2021.
The BCCI soon to release reschedule of remaining matches of IPL 2021.
