Punjab Kings Vs Rajasthan Royals Match 8: PBKS won by 5 runs

In Match 8 of the IPL, Punjab Kings faced off against Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Stadium. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. Punjab Kings posted a challenging total of 197/4 in their 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan scored an impressive 86 off just 56 balls, while Jitesh Sharma scored a quickfire 27 off 16 balls. Jason Holder and Yuzvendra Chahal took two and one wickets respectively for Rajasthan Royals.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals started off poorly losing both openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravichandran Ashwin, cheaply. Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer then put on a quickfire partnership to bring Rajasthan Royals back into the game. However, Nathan Ellis' four-wicket haul derailed their chase as they ended up falling short by just five runs. Dhruv Jurel played a quick cameo of 32 runs off 15 balls but it was not enough. Rajasthan Royals ended up with 192/7 in their 20 overs. Punjab Kings won the match by 5 runs.
