In reply, Rajasthan Royals started off poorly losing both openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravichandran Ashwin, cheaply. Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer then put on a quickfire partnership to bring Rajasthan Royals back into the game. However, Nathan Ellis' four-wicket haul derailed their chase as they ended up falling short by just five runs. Dhruv Jurel played a quick cameo of 32 runs off 15 balls but it was not enough.
